How To Lose Weight While Skipping Breakfast

How can one individual skip breakfast which is supposed to be the most important meal of the day and still lose weight? Is that even a thing?

Since your childhood, your parents, your friends and maybe some of your co-workers insisted that breakfast was the most important meal of the day and that it was a very bad thing to skip it.

Is this true or people have just been regurgitating this information blindly over and over again without any knowledge of the subject?

Some studies have shown that skipping breakfast could lead to obesity and here’s one reason why. If the only thing you eat for lunch and dinner is fast food and you are binge eating at night then forget about skipping breakfast. It’s the only meal where you were eating something healthy so it helps you control your weight.

Let’s look more deeply into the subject.

I’ll cut straight to the chase and say to you that it’s a lie. You’re probably asking yourself “Why should I believe Julien?” Which is a totally legitimate question. So here are 3 reasons why you can still skip breakfast and lose weight:

Calories Need to Balance Out at the End of Your Day

From a strictly biological perspective, the “calories in versus calories out” model matters for weight loss. You will only lose weight if you consume fewer calories than you burn, regardless of the types of food you eat. It’s very important here that you understand that not all calories were created equal and that you cannot only eat fast food to hit that calorie goal.

None of the less at the end of the day what really matters is that you hit your calorie goal by maintaining a good macronutrient ratio.

Intermittent Fasting Is a Long Term Solution to Lose Weight

A phenomenon called intermittent fasting is currently one of the world’s most popular health and fitness trends.

It involves alternating cycles of fasting and eating so, for example, you allow yourself 8 hours in your day to consume all your calories so you start eating at 12:00 pm and you stop at 8:00 pm. In that case, you would skip breakfast and the only thing you can consume during that period are drinks like water and coffee.

Many studies show that this can cause weight loss, improve metabolic health, protect against disease and perhaps help you live longer.

You Can Feel More Focus and Have Less Clouded Taught

For example, people who follow an intermittent fasting plan, only eating within a 6 or 8-hour window, burn more stored fat for fuel — and since fat is excellent fuel, most report no loss of energy or mental acuity in those morning hours before their eating window opens.

That was definitely true for me: I haven’t felt a loss of energy or focus when I’ve followed an intermittent fasting plan.

This relies solely on personal preferences so know yourself and enjoy the process.

Listen To Your Body

Taking into account all of these factors:

  • Calories Need to Balance Out at the End of Your Day
  • Intermittent Fasting Is a Long Term Solution to Lose Weight
  • You Can Feel More Focus and Have Less Clouded Taught

It safe to say that skipping breakfast has no catastrophic effect on your health but it’s more of personal preference and it can even accelerate your weight loss process. Learn to listen to your body and respect your limits because if you don’t live with a lifestyle that suits your need you’re losing your quality of life.

If skipping breakfast makes you feel angry and asleep then have breakfast it’s as simple as that.

Take care and always listen to your body.

Progress over everything.

Have you tried skipping breakfast to lose weight? What were your results?
